State-of-the-art Technology to Process Top Quality Milk

Milkaut has been involved in Argentina's dairy industry for more than eighty years and during those years it has incorporated state-of-the-art technology to its processes.
The company has six industrial plants with high technology in which almost all the equipments have European origin and has a total production capacity of 2,100,000 liters per day.

Franck's Industrial Complex

This is the operating centre of the Company, where 80% of Milkaut's production is carried out. This industrial complex is located on a land of 105,000 square metres, out of which 18,000 square metres have been occupied with buildings.

Once milk is received in plant, it passes through rigorous controls of quality, those that assure the appropriate destiny of it to each line of production. This process consists of different stages, as they are: unloading, measurement of volume, hygenization, standardization, pasteurisation, cooling and storage in appropriate silos for the conservation of the raw material.

Franck's Industrial Complex: Production Areas

Dehydrated products area

It manufactures Powdered Milk (under HACCP Certification «Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point»), Powdered Cream, Lactose, Whey Proteins Concentrate and Milk Proteins Concentrate. It also includes the line of Caramel Spread in its different varieties, where the systems of concentration through falling film evaporators and the final process in large pans are complemented., This guarantees a final product keeping distinctive features in its different varieties: traditional, for pastry and for ice creams.

Powdered Milk Manufacturing Plant: It was built in 1995 under state-of-the-art architectural designs and technology; it has a manufacturing and processing capacity that reaches 500,000 litres of milk per day. it has the HACCP Certification «Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point». The distinctive feature of this plant is its excellent capacity for separating dry areas from wet ones. It also has a cascade processing system which enables to obtain top quality finished products. The process is monitored by an automatic supervision system, which controls all the variables. The technology applied to the drying process enables to obtain a wide range of dehydrated products.

Whey Proteins Concentrate and Lactose Processing Plant (WPC): It was opened in 1993 and it is the first plant -and only one in Latin America- that manufactures these two useful products for food and pharmacopoeia industries. This plant has a daily processing capacity of 800,000 litres of whey and a manufacturing capacity that reaches: 19,000 kg of lactose and 12,000 kg of powdered whey per day.

Milk Proteins Concentrate Manufacturing Plant (MPC): It was opened in 1999 being the third plant in the world that manufactures MPC; its daily processing capacity reaches 300,000 litres of Skim milk whereas its manufacturing capacity of MPC reaches 10,300 kg per day.

Fresh Products Area

It includes the production of pasteurised milk, pasteurised cream, yogurts, desserts and custards.

Milkaut has the appropriate technology to make possible the pasteurisation process as well as milk homogenisation. Added to this, the plant has up-to-date packaging machines that enable to offer the consumers good and fresh products everyday.

The yogurt plant was opened in 1997 and it has a manufacturing daily capacity of 100 thousand litres of yogurt. In this plant Milkaut manufactures different kinds of yogurts, among them there are: stirred, drinking, and fruity yogurts. This plant has a high degree of automation where all the manufacturing and packaging stages are monitored by a central system that guarantees top quality products.

Sterile Products Area

It manufactures U.H.T milk (under HACCP Certification «Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point»), its plants was opened in 1995 with a daily processing capacity of 250 thousand litres of milk.

Once the raw material is standardised it is put under a thermal treatment (U.H.T.) Ultra High Temperature what enlarges the shell life of the product. Next, the product is fractionated by an aseptic packaging machine and then it is grouped and packed.

Natural Cheeses Area

Milkaut manufactures four types of cheeses: soft, semi-hard, hard cheese and cheese specialities. Its daily manufacturing capacity of different types of cheeses amounts to 500 thousand litres of milk.

The cheese receives a special care in all of its production stages, that is to say: manufacturing, salting, airing, ripeness as well as the storage. Milkaut has always been characterised because of this kind of manufacture, what has given the company a wide recognition within the international market.

Milkaut S.A. has other five dairy manufacturing plants

Colonia Nueva Plant: It is qualified to export to the European Economic Community and counts on Certification HACCP «Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point». Their cameras of maturation have the versatility required for the different types of cheeses manufactured. It has a daily manufacturing capacity of 300,000 litres of milk, which are used to manufacture hard and semi-hard chesses. In this plant are the ripeness-storage rooms for hard cheese that is then exported.

Chamical Plant: It is located in the province of La Rioja and it manufactures grated cheese using hard cheeses such as Sardo and Reggianito. It also manufactures dehydrated products.

El Suizo Plant: It is located in Las Parejas town, Santa Fe province. It manufactures blue and soft cheeses.

San Jerónimo Plant: It is located in San Geronimo town, Santa Fe province. It manufactures processed, semi-hard and hard cheeses.

San Luis Plant: It manufactures U.H.T. milk and has a daily manufacturing capacity that reaches 120 thousand litres. It and counts on Certification HACCP «Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point». This plant has a strategic location that not only enables the Company to arrange products in such a way that they can have an outlet towards the Pacific at a very short distance, but also enables the development of a non-traditional milkshed.
